Admission Deadlines
1: September to November: Applications Accepted
Most schools have an application deadline in September or October. Some schools may accept applications into November as well.

Mid-year or late-applications are also accepted, but it is much better to submit your applications within the correct period of time.

Some DSS (direct subsidy scheme) and other government schools have an actual date during which applications can be downloaded online or collected in person, and another date during which applications must be submitted in person.
2: December to April: Interview & Testing
All schools in Hong Kong have some kind of interview and/or testing system, including for the youngest students (2yrs!)

Generally, the interview and assessment period takes place early in the calendar year. Most schools have set dates during which students must attend (in person) the interview or assessment.
3: April to May: Offers made (Selection), Decision Required, Make Payment
Shortly after the interview session (in some cases the following day, in others within a couple of weeks) schools make their selections. Your child will either be called for another interview, or they will be selected and put on the waiting list, or a direct offer will be made.

If a direct offer is made, parents must make the decision to accept or reject the offer, typically within 1-2 weeks.

Offers cannot be deferred or reserved. A deposit or other (substantial) payment is required thereupon and generally is not refundable!
